Major League Baseball, along with Bayer Healthcare, recently donated over $300,000 to the Prostate Cancer Foundation for their ongoing research efforts.
While other diseases such as breast and lung cancer have been featured prominently in the media and have had long-standing relationships with supportive organizations (such as professional sports leagues), prostate cancer organizations have not been quite as fortunate. That may be changing, however, as more people (and organizations) realize how many men are diagnosed with and die from prostate cancer each year.
More awareness of and financial support for worthy prostate cancer-related organizations would obviously be a welcome thing. Kudos to Major League Baseball for their donation and support.
