Single Men Less Likely to Get Screened for Prostate Cancer
A recent study from the University of Michigan has shown that single men were 40 percent less likely to undergo screening for prostate cancer than married men.
Perhaps this study and others like it suggest that screening information should be provided to men earlier in life than it currently is.
Providing screening information to middle-aged or younger men may plant a seed of awareness about prostate cancer risk early on. Hopefully, men who remained single would then have a heightened sense of awareness about the most common male cancer and would be more likely to get screened at the appropriate age.
