A new study seems to show that men who choose "watchful waiting" instead of active treatment of their prostate cancer do not necessarily suffer from increased anxiety due to their choice.
A team of researchers from the Netherlands assessed 129 men who had selected "watchful waiting" and found that they had similar levels of anxiety, depression, and other emotional issues as men who had chosen a form of active treatment such as surgery or radiation.
The study has been published online in the journal Cancer.
