Well known men's college basketball coach, Steve Lavin, recently announced that he has prostate cancer.
Lavin issued a statement that he was diagnosed in September 2010 with "low-grade" prostate cancer for which he would delay treatment until after the finish of the college basketball season. Lavin did not say which type of treatment he will undergo now that the season has ended.
Lavin, 46, is currently the coach of St. John's University and led the team to its first NCAA tournament berth since 2002. He was formerly the coach at UCLA and also spent 7 years as an analyst at ESPN.
