United States Senator Tom Coburn Treated for Prostate Cancer

Tom Coburn, the junior Republican Senator from Oklahoma, was recently treated for prostate cancer.  His office released a statement that he had undergone surgery to treat an early stage of prostate cancer and that he was expected to be back to his full duties in the near future.

Coburn has been treated twice before for cancer.  He was diagnosed with melanoma in the 1970s and with colon caner in 2003.
