Definition: Your baseline PSA is your PSA (prostate specific antigen) when it was first measured. The baseline PSA is important because subsequent PSA values that are higher than your baseline may indicate a disease of the prostate, such as prostate cancer or BPH. A baseline PSA is sometimes also considered to be your PSA before treatment has started.
