Definition of Adjuvant Therapy

Definition:

Adjuvant therapy is any treatment that is put to use after another primary treatment in order to offer a better chance at cure.

With prostate cancer, radiation is often used as an adjuvant therapy after radical prostatectomy to increase the chance of cure.
