Us TOO International is a non-profit organization dedicated to prostate cancer education and support. It was formed in 1990 by prostate cancer survivors and their families.
Currently, it is made up of over 300 support-group chapters worldwide. These groups provide men and their loved ones with free information and peer-to-peer support so they can make informed choices regarding their cancer.
The mission of Us TOO is "to help men and their families make informed decisions about prostate cancer detection and treatment through support, education and advocacy." As the mission statement expresses, Us TOO is nearly completely devoted to helping people make better decisions regarding prostate cancer. This is different from many other large prostate cancer organizations, which tend to focus a great deal of energy on raising money for prostate cancer research, prostate cancer detection drives, etc.
Us TOO has resources specifically tailored to newly diagnosed men and minority men. The group also places a special emphasis on support for and outreach to the families of men with prostate cancer.
